Mirador de los Cóndores

Jurisdiction: Los Glaciares National Park.

Duration: 30 minutes (one-way).
Difficulty: easy.
Ascent: 100 m.

Description: This is the shortest trek from El Chaltén, reaching a natural lookout point established above the town with an exceptional panoramic view of The Adela range, Torre and Fitz Roy Mountain and Rio De las Vueltas Valley.

Itinerary: Leaving from El Chaltín, you cross the access bridge over the Río Fitz Roy and continue along the road until you reach the National Park office where the path starts.
From there, this well signed track ascends until you get to a lookout point. This footpath is relatively new as it has been inagurated in the year 2004. As it name shows, the lookout point is situated in a strategic place for the eventual observation of condors in their frequent glide to and from the Río Fitz Roy valley. It is also an excelent alternative to apprecciate the imposing granite peaks and glaciers that dominate the horizon.
