Laguna Cóndor - Refugio de Montaña is located on the west bank of the Río de las Vueltas, 20 km north of El Chaltén.
The refuge offers accommodation in cabins with private bathrooms, half board (dinner and breakfast), Hot Tub, mountain bikes and self-guided activities within the property,
all included in the price.
The restaurant serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has a reading area, bar, living room on the mezzanine and free Wi-Fi connection.
The electricity is generated by an innovative hydroelectric turbine, which takes advantage of a natural torrent, reducing impact and pollution of the environment.

Cabins
The Refuge has 8 double cabins (double or twin) with private bathrooms, strategically located on the property, offering an experience of intimate contact with nature while enjoying the peace of the place..
Restaurant
From the restaurant you have impressive views of the north face of the mythical Cerro Fitz Roy. Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the lounge. Additionally, there is a fireplace area, reading area and a bar. On the mezzanine you will find a lounge area with comfortable armchairs that offers views of the surrounding forest.
Hot tube
Enjoy a hot bath outdoors, ideal after a day of hiking, or to combine with daily activities at the Refuge. We provide bathrobe.

Weather
In Southern Patagonia the climate can change radically several times, making it possible to experience all 4 seasons in the same day.
In summer, the average temperature is around 64°F (when there are more than 17 hours of light per day), and it does not reach 35°F in winter, with a luminosity of 8 hours per day.
Clothing
It is essential to use comfortable, warm and waterproof clothing if possible. Dressing in several layers is ideal to protect yourself from the cold and eventually cover yourself in case the temperature rises during the day. It is important to have sunglasses, gloves, hat, comfortable shoes, scarf or a Buff like neck warmer. For those who carry out specific trekking activities, it is advisable to use boots that protect the ankles, given that they will be walking on uneven terrain.
Important
In the Refuge area, there is no access to cell phone signal. WiFi is offered in the common area, not in the cabins.
We have Radio communication service through our own radio repeater.
Only cash payments are accepted at the property.
The road from El Chaltén is consolidated gravel.

Distance to the refuge from the Comandante Armando Tola International Airport (El Calafate): 137 mi (4 hours by car).
How to get
Direct from the Airport
If you want to arrive directly from the International Airport, without passing through El Calafate, you can hire a private transfer service, who will be waiting for you when you arrive from your flight and will bring you directly to Laguna Condor at the time that best suits you.
From El Calafate
The bus service from El Calafate run all year round. It takes Provincial Route 11 towards Río Gallegos and after 21 miles you arrive at the junction with National Route 40 where you turn left; 62 miles more and you reach the junction of Provincial Route 41, where you turn again to your left until you reach El Chaltén after about 55 miles.
From El Chaltén
Whether hiring the taxi transfer or if you have your own vehicle, continuing along the main avenue of El Chaltén you reach the gravel road that indicates the direction towards Lago del Desierto. After 12.5 mi, on your right you will find the Refugio Laguna Cóndor gate.

Reservation policies
- All reservations must be requested by e-mailand will be confirmed by the same means, as well as modifications and cancellations.
- Telephone communication does not imply reservation, cancellation or modification of any kind..
- To confirm reservations, it is essential to include the following information for each passenger in the order: name & surname, date of birth, ID or passport number, nationality, dietary restrictions (if any). Time/way of arrival at Laguna Cóndor Refuge.
Bookings
- Any reservation is considered confirmed only with payment of 30% of the reservation as a deposit.
- The remaining 70% must be paid 20 days before the arrival of the passengers. All modifications to confirmed reservations are subject to availability and cancellation regime.
Policies for minors and guides
- Up to 2 years free of charge (occupying available bed).
- From 3 to 11 years old pay 80% of the adult Rack rate.
- People over 12 years old are considered adults.
- In order to apply the discount, it is essential to present a photocopy of the minors' identification document, prior to payment, otherwise the adult rate must be applied.

Cancellation policies
- Any total or partial cancellation before 60 days prior to check-in does not apply a penalty.
- From day 59 to 45 days prior to check-in, the penalty will be equivalent to 30% of the reservation.
- From day 44 to the day of check-in, the penalty will be equivalent to 100% of the reservation.
PAYMENTS: If there is any payment at the time of cancellation within the established terms, it will be considered as credit for future reservations.
